Facebook has pointed out that these games have been created directly by Gamesys and Facebook has had no part in its production.  The Facebook spokesperson told BBC” Real money gaming is a popular and well-regulated activity in the UK, and we are allowing a partner to offer their games to adult users on the Facebook  platform in a safe and controlled manner.”
Facebook still manages to make money from the venture and takes 30% of the transactions, though the spokesperson would not confirm this to the BBC.

Currently Gamesys operates a number of online gambling companies in the UK, many of which are in the bingo and slots fields, including JackPotJoy. The gaming giant has included spending limits on the new games to prevent ethical issues.

Facebook says the reason allowed this virgin app in the UK was down to the well regulated gambling laws. Gamesys currently is situated in Gibraltar, which allows it entry to the UK market.
